Questions And Answers On Affiliate Marketing For Beginners

Kylee asks…
In the world of affiliate marketing, where do I begin?
I created a website with my amazon astore in it, I had 12 page views today, as of 2:10 am. I may have some hope, but yesterday and prior, the four sleepless nights I spent learning from scratch and making it happen, or at least hoping to, and never having done this before posed a big challenge to me, but I am not giving up, I just hit a point where I am confused. I had zero sales in my astore, and no clicks on any google adsense advertisements, where could I be going wrong? I would like to know some promotional strategies and techniques for gaining the favor of a potential customer, and what markets I would have the best shot at as a beginner. I have submitted my website to every place I could find online yesterday, how long does that usually take to bring traffic ?(beyond 12 people today so far and about 70 yesterday). or is it an ongoing battle? I need help developing a solid business plan, and review real websites of affiliate marketers to learn from their sites as well, know of any examples?

This won’t happen overnight for starters. Firstly, forget affiliate marketing, doesn’t work… Go for just Google Adsense. Make directories and information websites, you need many hundreds of pages to each site, you need to understand good basic optimisation and marketing techniques. 12 visitors to a site will do you nothing. You need several hundred thousands of people a day to make a site work for you inthis way. OR you need many sites with thousands of visitors. It took me 6 years to get my Adsense earning me a full time income and 15+ sites! Take your time, work hard and use common sense and you’ll get there.

Jim asks…
What is the best book to read or best way to learn how to be an affiliate marketer?
I have heard that affiliate marketing is really the best way to make money online but that it’s a gamble. But how should a person educate themselves on the matter. Are there any good books or online walk-throughs that might help a person get starte? And how much does it usually take to get started? Do I need to learn how to blog? Etc. Looking for a roundabout answer that covers everything for a beginner looking for what direction to take when it comes to this stuff.
admin answers:
The best place to learn about affiliate marketing and online business has to be Earn 1 K a Day . Hundreds of helpful people who are already succeeding, lots of business models with step-by-step instruction and many of the ebooks that teach you new methods are included in the membership cost on a regular basis.
I’ve provided a link to a blog post so you can read some reviews if you’d like. Good luck with your online ventures!

Charlie asks…
What would help my chances of getting into College the most? General guidance needed 4 CompSci/Football Guy.?
First off, a little back story so that you’ll understand everything. Basically, didn’t do that well in High School just getting low B’s and High C’s despite the simplicity of those courses. I just didn’t think any of it would be that important at the moment, and now its coming back to bite me in the a$$.
Well sort of anyway, I spent the time I was supposed to be doing homework learning computer programming and other divisions of computer science. I graduated high school May 2009, and wasn’t sure if I wanted to go to college yet so I gave myself a year off.
Now it’s January, and I’m wanting to go to college. I just took my SAT’s and will be getting my scores back on February 19th. I’ve been looking at Colleges such as:
Rice University (First Choice)
Harvey Mudd (heard this school was tough, but i’ve always liked a challenge)
University Of Texas at Austin (School i’ve always dreamt of going to)
Texas A&M
Ohio State
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
CalTech
I am VERY interested in genetic programming, and have been toying around with it lately. I am also well versed in OOP principles, and making flexible, reusable, and extensible programs. I have experience developing software for clients via freelancing websites such as rentacoder.com and scriptlance.com.
As you might be able to tell, I am very confused as to what I need to do now. I was wondering if applying genetic programming to solve some sort of problem would increase my chances of getting into these schools. Would any other type of computer programming projects help my chances of getting in? Is my real world software development experience helpful in getting me into college?
Also, my family is making little to no income right now so I should be eligible for financial aid. I have found a ton of resources online, but I’m not sure what to do with all of them. I’m basically lost right now, and asking for some guidance for anyone that has been in a similar situation. Also, here is a list of skills that I have:
HTML
CSS
Graphic Design (beginner to intermediate)
PHP (5 years experience)
MySQL
Perl
Python
C# (3 years experience)
*nix administration
I’m great with Regex
Security vulnerabilities (hackthissite.com hellboundhackers.org and finding vulner. on local machine)
C++ (beginnner)
Java (beginner to intermediate, very similar to C#)
Search Engine Optimization
Internet Marketing
Affiliate Marketing
E-commerce
Ad copy testing/tracking conversions
Google Adwords Specialist
I also might consider playing football in college, here are my relevant attributes:
6’4 198 lbs
4.6 40 yard dash
225 lbs X 1 (weak I know)
32″ vertical
4.43 20 yard shuttle
Another thing of note is I have impeccable balance and control of my body due to training parkour for 2 years. Here is parkour:

Website Idea, Need Help!?
I plan to make website compiling event information around my local area. Events include major and popular concerts, sporting events, lectures, art shows, etc. I plan to finance the project through Google Adsense and Affiliated Marketing.
What is a good hosting company that would allow me, a beginner web designer, to build a great-looking website. I would like to have premade templates and stock photos I can use for free so all I have to do is write text, upload photos and videos, and provide libks.
I have been using Bluehost.com, but they so many options on the CL panel, it is quite confusing. Homestead.com has the best website builder out there but in terms of hosting and the options bluehost.com offer are not listed on Homestead.com.
admin answers:
I would go with Hostamina.com – they will help you with any questions you have and point you in the direction of a huge collection of templates you can have for free and edit any way you desire. They will also allow you to instantly install blogs/forums/ and much much more. Their support is highly personalized and they definitely won’t let you down! Also, they don’t oversell like Bluehost does. Their servers are super fast and highly reliable!
You should avoid hosts that offer “unlimited” space/bandwidth as this is somewhat of a scam. You should also avoid hosts that offer ridiculous amounts of space/bandwidth, such as 10GB space for only $5/month. Hosts like this overload and oversell servers, and are bad news for anyone who wants reliability.
You should also avoid answers here that send you to review sites, as those sites make money off commissions and rank hosts based on how much money they’ll get paid, not on how good they are. You should avoid answers here that look like they are affiliate links as well, for the same reason.

Nancy asks…
Do you recommend Wealthy Affiliate?
I visited WealthyAffiliate.com and scanned through what the program offers. As as a monthly subscriber for $30 per month, you get Internet marketing training & tools, website development training & tools, monthly PLR articles, personal coaching, and membership forum.
I am familiar with the PLR articles as I joined a free-trial membership of another website. Their PLR content were so general with not much thought put into it with no expertise. It looks like anyone could have written them. Do you recommend going this PLR route to make money off of the Internet? Also, describe the PLR articles and the website templates of WealthyAffiliate.com.
Tell me about your success or failure from WealthyAffiliate.com. Do you recommend it? Do you like their program? How much money are you making or did you make? Is it recommended for beginners or only more experienced marketers?
admin answers:
I joined Wealthy Affiliate about 6 months ago and I am still a paying member. The creators (Kyle and Carson) have done a tremendous job, but I really have to take my hat off to the members there on the forums. Its pretty cool when Kyle or Carson answer your questions on the forums, but whats really cool is being able to talk to people, like you or me, that have used wealthy affiliate and are making thousands of dollars every month. You wont get that anywhere else.
You spoke about the PLR articles and how the prior program that you were involved in was pretty poor. Your not likely to see much poor material at WA. Kyle and Carson offer a lot of information in that area, not to mention all the members who offer their little tips on how to better market their PLR articles for maximum profit.
The website templates are great, download, edit, and upload into your ftp and your website is up and running. But, what I think is more important is their “site rubix”. Its a website creator that is literally click and drag type of creator and the quality is superb. Also, there is a ftp program attached to the site rubix making downloading the coding onto the domain a breeze.
I’m not going to lie to you, Affiliate Marketing is a business like any other. Your going to have difficulties in the beginning, and if your willing to learn and build up through the difficult, then your on your way to great success. Wealthy Affiliate will help you along the way, one baby step at a time. Whether your an expert, or a beginner, you’ll find that Wealthy Affiliate can help you
I wish you success and good luck.

Mark asks…
How do I find affiliates to help me sell my products…Painting DVDs? I sell a beginners course for painting?
How do I find affiliates to help me sell my products…Painting DVDs?
I sell a beginners course for oil painting for $180 and need to find people to market for me …I have a website and have tried Adwords but just too much of a hassle for me. I looked into clickbank but they only accept e-programs and currently I’m not selling via download. Do I pay by commission or a flat monthly rate for a banner etc,? Where can I go to find affiliates? Any Advice? Thanks
admin answers:
I would suggest that you look into signing up with a reputable Affiliate Marketing Company which will already have a network of Affiliates. You will of course need an eCommerce website, and there will be a setup charge that you will have to pay up front. How much you have to pay in commissions however is up to you, but bear in mind, that the less you are willing to pay in commissions, the less will be your chance of getting the best affiliates. Commissions are usually a percentage of sales.

Mandy asks…
I work for an IT solutions firm and need marketing help.?
IT solutions firm specializes in Networking services, product/software development, IT staffing (full time & consulting), IT outsourcing, and reller of hardware/software.
Besides making calls to businesses, explaining our services, and getting no where, does any one have any tips for a beginner in the sales department?
I started looking into becoming a third party vendor for other businesses/corporations but the company is mostly looking for local small – medium sized businesses.
I also am looking into whether I can become affiliated with a business development company, so that they can offer my services to businesses that would benefit from the cost savings that my company offers.
I hope this is detailed enough! Any help from veteran sales people, (or just someone with a good idea) would be greatly appreciated.
THANKS GUYS/GALS

You have not indicated where you operate from. Besides you are covering the entire gamut of IT services. What you need is identify one area to focus on.
