I was wondering with all the clone scripts out in the market if its legal to start a social clone site like facebook with all the features of facebook, except to give it a different name instead of facebook?

As long as the code aint the same as facebooks code its fine if you do it.
You cant steal someone else code and just change name.

Myspace/Facebook Clone software that works with mac os x?

I’m making a website, and need software for Web design that will work with a mac. I’m not very talented, but I need to build the majority of it to copyright it, then with that protection I can take it to a web designer for polishing. I’m open to all suggestions.

Ok if im understanding this right you want to create a website like myspace/facebook with your mac and want to know what program can do this?

If yes , heres the thing sites like that require a good amount of knowledge..

My preferred route is serverapp/mysql/php
there are a few other ways of doing so but this is the best method
it requires databases and it may be to much if youre new to web design. Unless you dont mind researching it and learning.

Dreamweaver by adobe is probably your best bet and its not cheap.
So if i were u and someone else is going to do the final work . Just use something simple like iWeb do crate some rough ideas of the layout/colors/themes etc and show them that and let them work the rest.
Or again learn how to use mysql and php

About the Facebook Clone..?

HI guys… A friend of mine had trouble with his ex boyfriend.. He knows her account on her facebook. Know I suggested to her that we will change the password on facebook, then change the email password also plus the settings on her email. Then she says she has done those suggestion that I have suggested. She even said that whenever she changes her password he exactly knows the password because he has clone for facebook. I’m just confused about this.. I have searched the facebook clone etc. but I can’t seemed to find what I am looking for. How is this possible? Please help to what to do. So he can stop what he is doing.

He probably has a keylogger, trojan, worm or something smiler on her computer and is just finding out what she is changing it to using that. Id try to clean the computer of any malicious software but in the mean time use a different computer to change the password on both your email and facebook and don’t use that computer to log into it until you find it or figure out how hes doing it. Also Id make sure he doesn’t glen any other personal information such as credit cards SS # or any thing like that because if he does have a keylogger he can get all of that

Normally it is not legal, but Facebook would not take action as if you use that clone script for your own social networking site, your visitor will never beat that of Facebook unless you add in something new and better.
But when you have added something more, Facebook has no right to query your rights…
